Confuzled Love Poem

(Confuzled. As in confused. I'll give this poem a decent name when I come up with one.)
When we have been apart to long, I begin to doubt and fear,
will I find that I remembered wrong, or heard only what I wanted to hear?
I watch the glow deep in my heart and wonder 'is this real?'
Will I find that I had tricked myself into feeling what I wanted to feel?
But when I see you again and we fall back into pace
I find that my doubts melt away without a trace.
When I hold you late at night, with your hot tears in my hair
I believe your choked "I love you." and I remember why I care.
It's true, it hurts, having you so far away.
And more, to see your anguish, and not know what to say.
But never doubt that, through the tears, my love for you remains.
If you weren't worth far more than that, you couldn't cause me pain.
When you speak my thoughts and your eyes are like mirrors of my own,
These are the moments worth all the pain, when I know I'm never alone.

In Silence

In silence, I had sworn that I loved you.
And often wondered if you knew.
I longed to speak and vowed I would.
But I found no time I could.
The times I saw you were so short and far between,
There wasn't time, there was no chance and there was Jean.
Now you speak the words I hadn't the courage to say,
though I cursed my silence when you were far away,
And I see my fears reflected in you eyes.
I choke on all of my replies.
Your words, your love mean more to me than I can tell
I search for words to doubt dispel
How could I betray the trust you've shown?
The heart I'd brake would be my own.

Love was Just a Legend

Love was just a legend,
a pretty thing to me
Until I saw it in your eyes,
and now I think I see.

A favorite source of drama,
That I didn't understand
Until I finally met your eyes,
And felt you take my hand.

I saw it every where I looked
And old, well worn cliche.
Until I looked into your eyes,
and couldn't look away.

Stolen Kisses

When we stepped off the beaten path
To force our way through brambles
We risked turning around one day
To find our lives in shambles.

But we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

I see a future, cold and bleak,
In which we've lost this war
Your shadowed eyes won't look at me
And I don't know you anymore.

Yet we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

You nod to me in passing,
Like we have nothing to say
You're just another stranger
Passing on your way.

Yet we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

The silence screams between us
The death cries of our hearts.
I don't wanna hear that
We've been doomed from the start.

For we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

A taste of 'Someday'
Lingers, bittersweet.
We have each other, we have hope
Though the world shakes beneath our feet.

So we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark!
When we stepped off the beaten path
To force our way through brambles
We risked turning around one day
To find our lives in shambles.

But we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.
I see a future, cold and bleak,
In which we've lost this war
Your shadowed eyes won't look at me
And I don't know you anymore.

Yet we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

You nod to me in passing,
Like we have nothing to say
You're just another stranger
Passing on your way.

Yet we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

The silence screams between us
The death cries of our hearts.
I don't wanna hear that
We've been doomed from the start.

For we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark.

A taste of 'Someday'
Lingers, bittersweet.
We have each other, we have hope
Though the world shakes beneath our feet.

So we endure, for the sake of stolen kisses
In the dark!

Tower of Ice

The world spins around me,
The strangers come and go
As I watch from my tower of ice.
It's cold but safe inside.
They look in with curiosity
And I look out at them
I'm under siege from every where
But I'll never let them in!
You stand inside my portcullis
Wearing you Cheshire smile
You've slipped in under every wall
I raised against the world
You say that you have come to free me.
How did you get here, I want to know?
Did you slay the dragon?
Did you swim the mote?
Don't smile like that
You're radiant,
You melt the icy walls!
Through the gap you left
I can hear the crowd
And they turn at the sound of
My pounding heart.
I didn't call for rescue!
I didn't ask for love!
Yet, here you are,
on my sacred ground.
And I offer you my hands...
