Installing Eclipse and Java

Intalling Java

• Download Java8 if you do not have it http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
• Click Agree button
• Download the appropriate package
• Click on the download package to open it
• Follow the on screen directions

Installing Eclipse

• Browse to https://eclipse.org/downloads/eclipse-packages
• To choose your OS, use the menu labeled "Eclipse Neon(4.6.1) Release for" at the top of the page.
• Select the "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers" for your OS. (Note: NOT "Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers".)
• Click Download (orange button at the top right)
• Click Download under Get Eclipse Neon
• Click Download once again

On Mac

• Click on the .tar.gz download to open it
• Double click on Eclipse Intaller.app
• Follow on screen instructions

On Windows

• Click on the exe download
• Follow on screen instructions
